René is a Mexican living in the US for the last 10 years with his family. His father and grandparents were born in Potosí, Bolivia. In Bolivia, he has 20+ relatives with the same last name that he has never met but may look eerily similar to him.
He believes in applying technology (and the inherent intellectual challenge) to help solve the world’s biggest challenges: food and water for everyone, and sustainable energy. One of his great interests is improving sanitation and water quality, as well as making it accessible to under-developed communities.
He is a chemical engineer, and has a business degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He currently works in the industrial biotechnology space, seeking to commercialize sustainable and efficient biotech-based applications and technologies.
He loves trail running, coffee (espresso), and learning the rich history of West Chester and surrounding area. He also loves eating fricasé and salteñas.
