Celebrating a new water project.

Celebrating a new water project.

On March 22 the world celebrated Water Day, a day to focus on “the importance of freshwater and advocating for the sustainable management of freshwater resources.” As QBL donors, you have about 215 reasons to celebrate.

Last month, the US board approved two new water projects. The Calari Grande water project will serve 33 families. The Janko Saya water project will benefit 25 families. Janka Saya will be the first QBL project to use wind power to pump water for village families. It is an exciting endeavor that we hope to replicate in other places.

In May, US and UK board members are planning a self-funded trip to Bolivia. Lourdes, the Bolivian coordinator, tells us that four different communities are asking us to celebrate with them. We funded their projects in 2012, and they will be finishing them in the coming weeks.  That is almost 150 families celebrating the fact that now, they can easily access clean water.

So, 215 families have reason to celebrate this tremendous change in their lives, all because of your donations.

2013 is shaping up to be a busy year. You can help us ensure that even more families have reason to celebrate Water Day next year. How many more reasons can we add to celebrate?

As always, thanks for your support, and please know that you are making a great difference in the lives of these families through your donations.
